Great tool for wood workers as well as the average home builder or owner. The Peavey drawshaves are made of 1/4" thick x 2" wide top quality spring steel. The ends have a twist in them to attach the handles that are very near indestructible.
A unique twist on each end of the blade allows the handles to be bolted on to this drawknife, instead of wedged on like the traditional design. Peavey has created a long blade inside of a relatively compact tool with this 13" drawknife.
The coarse edge from the factory is serviceable for stripping bark from a green tree, but you may want to put a finer edge onto this tool yourself. Certainly, this drawknife is the best value we offer in drawknives!
These are a great tool for removing bark, shaping seats and long sections of lumber as well as hand-hewn timbers.
