The cranked Iwasaki halfround file is a lovely tool for mouldings, recessed areas and long grooves. Unimpeded by the handle, this file can cut and finish a profile of its own radius or wider and as long as you like.

Flat

The cranked Iwasaki flat file excels at easing the bottom of grooves, housings and rebates, with a little tweaking on the grinder it could also be pressed into service on sliding dovetails. The teeth cut on the push stroke and go right to the tip - ideal for stopped grooves.
