The Honing Guide is essential for truly sharp chisels and plane blades. Veritas recently took their original honing guide and improved the design. This crew, student and customer favorite features a wider roller for added stability and more even wear on your stones, a 3-position eccentric roller for quick and accurate micro-bevels, and a wide-faced clamp to easily secure your plane iron or chisel without marring the blade.

In addition the MKII comes with a registration jig that simultaneously squares and centers the blade, while setting the correct projection. This little gadget takes away the tedious setup time and ensure that you're working to create a square blade at just the right angle. In addition the guide has considerable weight to offset a heavy chisel or plane iron.

This honing guide accepts blades up to 15/32-in thick and 2-7/8-in wide.
