These tough leather guards are sized to just allow the respective chisel/slick to fit into them. It is a very snug fit to ensure that the guard stays on the chisel/slick. As a result care must be taken when putting the chisel guard on and removing it so as not to slice the leather. if you are concerned about a tight fit, please consider ordering up one size.
