Join us for a day of carving. Instructor, Ken Wise, has been teaching woodworking and carving for over thirty years. He brings blanks, tools and technique to help you build your skills in carving. This is a hands-on class using primarily hand tools. Demonstrations include design and layout, discussion of wood species and selection, tool selection and maintenance, techniques and finish techniques. . Each student will have the opportunity to carve either a canoe paddle or a kayak paddle. You will need to specify which type of paddle you would like when you sign up for the class and provide the height of the person who will use the paddle. You may pre-order paddle blanks to pick up at the class or at the class to pick up at a later date. Tools and material:

All materials and tools are provided for the workshop but you can also bring any tools you would like to try.

Shelter Institute Reserves the right to cancel a class when enrollment is fewer then ten. In the event of a cancelled class, all deposit or tuition payments are returned to customer.
